Project NewTon

This is the Homepage of Project NewTon, a European Sixth Framework Programme Project (NMP4-CT-2005-017160). Our goal is the development of a fast and flexible method for production of functions within 3D photonic crystals.

The manufacturing approach will be achieved by the combination of research activities on

(i) polymer based nano-scale colloids,

(ii) holographic structured polymers,

(iii) laser based defect inscribing into the material with nm-resolution,

(iv) infiltration and inversion techniques to realise photonic crystals, and the

(v) full characterisation and performance evaluation of the manufactured components.

For a more complete overview of the project, please refer to the "Summary " page.
